A Boat Parade and Community Picnic to Help Save Mashpee-Wakeby Pond

Saturday, July 13, 2024

10:00 am - 2:00 pm

We’re planning something new and exciting this coming summer and hope you will join in the fun! It’s our first annual “Float Your Boat” boat parade and community picnic. We encourage all residents near Mashpee-Wakeby Pond to participate, if you own a boat or not. This is your chance to meet neighbors, raise awareness about water quality issues, and learn what you can do to help.

Pontoon boats, motorboats, kayaks, canoes, and paddleboards are all welcome to join the parade. Please decorate your craft to be part of the fun. (See the back side of this flyer for ideas.) We’ll start at Camp Farley at 10:00 am and slowly circle the pond clockwise with signs and noise makers. Non-boaters are encouraged to ride on a boat or support the parade from the shore.

We’ll return to Camp Farley at around noon for a community celebration with free lunch, raffle, games and prizes. And we’ll learn about what we can all do to help save the pond.
